This has now been confirmed to be the result of a major Microsoft Azure outage, which is impacting multiple global services — including Minecraft, Azure, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
As a result, new Minecraft Java server installations are currently unable to download required dependencies. Existing servers that are already installed remain unaffected.
We are continuously monitoring the situation and will automatically retry installations once connectivity to the upstream servers is restored. No action is required from customers at this time.
We’re aware of an issue currently affecting the installation of Minecraft: Java Edition servers, including Forge and Paper builds. The installer is unable to download required files from Mojang and NeoForged repositories due to repeated connection timeouts.
This issue has been confirmed on both our hosting infrastructure and external networks (including residential connections), indicating the problem is with the upstream Minecraft content servers, not our network.
As a result, new Minecraft Java server installations may fail to download necessary dependencies.
We are actively monitoring the situation and will automatically retry installations as connectivity is restored. No action is required from customers at this time.
We’ll provide an update as soon as the upstream connectivity issue is resolved or a stable workaround becomes available.
